The Lotus Elise is a truly iconic Lotus, and with 2021 serving as the final year of production and it’s 25th anniversary, it is fitting to launch two final edition models; the new Elise Sport 240, and the new Elise Cup 250.
Both models feature unique paint choices, new exterior decals and two new wheel finishes. The interior gains a digital TFT instrument cluster, final edition build plaque, new steering wheel design and new seat trim and stitching patterns to name a few. The Sport 240 also benefits from an uprated calibration to the engine, so that power output is increased above the old Sport 220, up to 240 bhp.
The introduction of the final edition cars marks the pinnacle of the model’s technical development and showcases two decades of engineering excellence. The relative exclusivity and rarity of these models will no doubt ensure high demand and guarantee future classic status.
To mark the final year of production and it’s 25th anniversary the final edition Elise includes some unique paint choices, new decals on the exterior, and new wheel finishes.
In addition to twelve choices of standard and select paints, the Elise 240 final edition features five unique heritage colours that celebrate the Elise’s history. Buyers can specify Racing Green, Nightfall Blue, Essex Blue, Calypso Red and Black. These are teamed with a new lightweight, anthracite finish 10 spoke wheel. Black wheels can also be optioned on the Elise 240.
Further weight savings can be achieved with an extensive range of optional carbon fibre panels, including sill covers and engine cover, lithium-ion battery plus a lightweight polycarbonate rear window. With all the lightweight options chosen, the mass of the Elise Sport 240 reduces further from 922kg to 898kg.
To celebrate this exceptionally talented car in its final year of production, Lotus has upgraded the interior to include a TFT instrument cluster along with a final edition build plaque, new steering wheel design and new seat trim/stitch patterns.
The new TFT screen features two selectable driver screen display styles: an analog style with a circular tachometer and a digital style with a linear bar tachometer. These and other menu options are controlled via buttons on the side of the instrument binnacle. A high RPM shift light is included to assist the driver in selecting the optimum gear for the engine speed.
Sports seats in alcantara or leather come with a choice of 6 contrast stitch colour choices from red to vivid green. The steering wheel is of a new design and clad in leather and alcantara. It features a flat base to create better leg clearance for taller drivers and to aid ingress and egress.
